Ultra Two (2017)

In accordance with the laws of nature, people naturally foster descendents through the fellowship of men and women. Even myths often feature a pair of gods as the origin of human life and other living things. And in ancient times, mankind’s destiny often was governed by the results of a confrontation between two gods, or the factions associated with them. Enki and Enlil from the Sumerian mythology, Vishnu and Shiva from India, Fuxi and Nuwa from China, Izanagi and Izanami from Japan, the Egyptian Geb and Nut etc. Pairs that follow this pattern are too numerous to count. But if I have painting tools, even I can create a pair of gods like these. In this work, I painted two strange figures, but they are not just anyone: they are the result of my own interpretation of transcendent human beings. It excludes the counterfeit notion of “divinity”, and is presented without the filter referred to as God.
